Emily Koopman: Do you have a favorite type of music, and is it different from what you yourself do?
Loren Smith: I couldn’t narrow it down to one, but my music is a happy blend of flavors from some my favorite styles -pop, jazz, R&B, & gospel.
Emily: What inspired you to become an anti-bullying advocate, what inspired you to get involved?
Loren: I’ve been bullied since elementary school, so I’ve always been sensitive to it. I’ve lived the effects, and seen some of the cause. It’s a universal problem; we must work together to stop it.
Emily: You used to perform at a bunch of theme parks, including Disneyland and Universal Studios — what kind of jobs did you have there?
Loren: I sang at special events at Disneyland, and in the Blues Brothers Revue and Special Events at Universal Studios.
Emily: What projects are you working on right now?
Loren: I’m currently working on crafting and creating my live shows and making them the best they can be. I’m so excited!!!! I can’t wait to sing, meet everyone and connect in person. It’ll be EPIC.
Emily: You’ve performed all over the world? Is there a show you’ve done that stood out more than the others? Why?
Loren: Two come to mind. I’ve always had amazing experiences singing at the Special Olympics Summer Opening Games. The feeling of inspiration and unity is overwhelmingly positive. Lastly, many years ago, I got to travel to Fiji, and experience the beauty of the people and their music. I look forward to going again.
Emily: If you could co-headline a tour with anyone, who would it be?
Loren:I could see myself co-headlining a tour with PTX or Rachel Platten because of we all share empowering anthems and the positive messages.
